ABOUT
Located at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, Melbourne suburb Ferntree Gully has a population of 26,500. The City of Knox suburb situated 30km east of Melbourne’s CBD was originally a farming area in the early 1930s and a popular spot for holiday-makers staying overnight is boarding houses and cottages. Fitness seekers and tourists flock to the leafy area to take on the 1000 steps walking track nearby, which were developed as a commemoration of the Kokoda Trail from World War II. Ferntree Gully’s boundaries meet Upper Ferntree Gully, Boronia, Scoresby and Lysterfield. The Wally Tew Reserve is home to the Ferntree Gully Eagles Football Club, Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club, Ferntree Gully Cricket Club and 1st Ferntree Gully Scout Group.
